Well That's Just Crazy.

Dwarves can't be Paladins!

I Am A: Lawful Good Dwarf Paladin (6th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-16

Dexterity-15

Constitution-18

Intelligence-15

Wisdom-14

Charisma-15

Alignment:
Lawful Good A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment when it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Dwarves are known for their skill in warfare, their ability to withstand physical and magical punishment, their hard work, and their capacity for drinking ale. Dwarves are slow to jest and suspicious of strangers, but they are generous to those who earn their trust. They stand just 4 to 4.5 feet tall, but are broad and compactly built, almost as wide as they are tall. Dwarven men value their beards highly.

Class:
Paladins take their adventures seriously, and even a mundane mission is, in the heart of the paladin, a personal test an opportunity to demonstrate bravery, to learn tactics, and to find ways to do good. Divine power protects these warriors of virtue, warding off harm, protecting from disease, healing, and guarding against fear. The paladin can also direct this power to help others, healing wounds or curing diseases, and also use it to destroy evil. Experienced paladins can smite evil foes and turn away undead. A paladin's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast. Many of the paladin's special abilities also benefit from a high Charisma score.

  1. Heh. Coincidentally, I just found that page earlier today too. The ability scores that it gives are a bit silly, but other than that it seemed to get me pretty well. True Neutral Human Rogue (4th Level), with tendencies toward bard and sorcerer.

  2. I'm getting the dwarf paladin vibe from you, it had to be said. Of course I was a low level wizard. And your ability scores are all higher. Can I be your henchman? :D

  3. But I'm 6'6"! I agree I have a beard and a somewhat Dwarf-esque build though, short legs, barrel-chested. I did come within 2 points of Human on the detailed chart, I think it was my amazing ability to out drink every other American and my slow running speed that did me in :) My wife has been calling me a Paladin for years though, and a friend of mine used to call me "the moral compass of our generation". I could always see myself as good, just never particularly lawful. I always saw myself as a "has moral values, is willing to stand up for them when necessary" kind of a guy. No, you can't be my Henchman, that would mean I'd have to you pay monthly maintenance plus a share of treasure, it's like a D&D version of child support and I can't afford that right now with three kids in the house, sorry. Plus gold is at an all time high, or so I keep getting spammed, so 100gp/level/month for you I am pretty sure I could never afford, assuming the AD&D standard of 10gp/lb that's 10lbs of gold/month/level and an ounce of gold is bloody expensive these days. I just checked it's $1772.12/ounce, 10 troy ounces to the pound, means that even a 1st level Henchman is making 17721.20/month before looting bonuses; and you are 4th level, meaning that I'd have to pay you a base pay of $70,884.80, which right now is 44,935.27GBP (I don't know how to make the British Pound symbol).
